I was able to catch a show in Dallas. The Afghan Whigs were great! Having an autistic child, I was also in a little bubble in my own world that autism gives you. As I turned 50, I find that I am now finding a whole new group of friends in Special Olympics. So I know where you are coming from. Being wrapped up in my little word I did not get to explore things like a normal person. I am just getting to know the Afghan Whigs and I am looking forward to your next project. Who knows, I might even get to slip away to see you play! Good luck and have a wonderful 2013.

How fortunate I feel to have witnessed part of this journey and make your acquaintance at one of the three Whigs shows I was lucky enough to attend. I sadly did not get to experience the exuberance of the NYE finale, which is not to say I wasn’t also emotional. To see in print the words “End Times” as the tour label leaves me feeling wistful, yet I attain to be gracious, not greedy in all things life has to offer. As pertains to the Afghan Whigs, it’s a difficult cross to bear, but I’ll manage. Thank you for a truly inspired tour. Your love for what you do, appreciation for the opportunity to do it and for your fans shines through in all you do and say.
All the best to you…I’ll be listening wherever the year may take you.

That was a nice from the heart collection of thoughts Dave – thank you for sharing. You’ve been blessed with good friends, more-than-good talent and precious collaborations (either purely as ‘work’ or just for fun). It speaks volumes that you are appreciative of it all!

I hope 2013 continues to be as good in all aspects of your life and we’re looking forward to hearing more of your own music.
